Micheal D.K. Owen, respond to a New York Times article about the growth of herbicide-resistant “superweeds” in the U.S., largely fueled by broad use of the weedkiller glyphosphate, particularly Roundup, originally made by Monsanto. What can be done about this problem? Read the responses.

Anna responds to Robert Paarlberg’s defense of industrial agriculture as the best way to feed the world and his criticism that organic agriculture is an “elite preoccupation.” In her rebuttal piece, Anna explains the very research findings that prove organic farming is a sustainable way to feed the world, and dismantles Paarlberg’s fear tactics aimed at scaring readers – and eaters – into believing that industrial ag is the only way.
